Another Year bites the dust
Well, we started off the year with such high hopes of being a better person right? We were going to get in shape, physically, financially and socially. So, how did we do? The bad news is that this year is pretty much a wrap. Good news, we get to start all over in 2007 and make a new set of rules and goals...are you ready?
I once read somewhere that the difference between dreams and goals is "the written words". In other words, if you are not writing down your GOALS, than you're just dreaming. Don't get me wrong, dreams are all well and good at the end of a long hard day after you've taken that hot bath and you climb into that nice big bed with that fresh from the dryer smell and warmth. You close your eyes and everything you've ever wanted, like magic, poof, appears before your eyes.

Then the alarm clock goes off and reality sets in and as bad as you want to just turn over and pick up where you left off...you got to get up and face the fact that the only thing that's changed, is the day. Now this may even be one of those days that you say is "going to be different". You're going to be productive. You're going to do that one thing you've always wanted to do but never found the time. Perhaps you're going to finish that project that's been sitting in the corner of your dining room for months (I know I'm not the only one). You're going to do SOMETHING...right?!
Then "it" happens. The phone rings, or you run out of milk, or your neighbor asks for a ride to the other side of town. Your plans are altered and you get caught up in the moment, the hour, the day. Then the day is over and as you climb back into that nice warm bed you think to yourself "damn! I'll do it tomorrow"...next week...in 2007! Sound familiar?
It doesn't really matter if your goal is finding a new love or a new house. Without a plan of action (in writing), you're setting yourself up for if not failure than delays! Think of it as planning a day trip. You've got very specific places that you want to see. You're not really sure how to get there. Do you just get in the car and occasionally ask people on the street or do you get a map and plot your own course?
Some people only write out goals that pertain to their career paths. Is that all you really care about? Of course not, so here are my suggestions for areas of your life that you want to develop your goals in...
Family/Relationships Financial/Career Physical/Mental & Spiritual Health
WRITE THEM DOWN!! Not only that, look at them, carry them around with you. Do something every day that will bring you closer to accomplishing that goal. And, whenever you are faced with making a difficult decision ask yourself this... "Does this decision bring me closer or further from my goal?"
This is Leticia wishing you a happy 2007 may it be filled with fewer dreams and possibilities and more actuality and realities!

I made a promise to myself that this year IS my year. its my year for love, prosperity, peace, & most important, POSSITIVE CHANGE...and i also promised i would not write them down ahead of time because that never worked, i would get 1/2 way through the list and forget where i put it or like u said, get side tracked or interrupted. this time, im letting it flow so there is no pressure for the change and it happens naturally. the bottom line is 2007 is the year i start becoming me and thats not a one year process.

Hate the pressure of having to choose a resolution. I know what it should be but have tried and failed that. I think this year I will just choose to be a better person and work on that.

Make more money by working harder, and come out with a first class or a 2:1 at least in my department. How does that sound?

I'm not making a NY Resolution, I never keep them so I just put things in my mind that are possible and I don't get too upset if I don't follow through!

Some things exceed human understanding. Many times the harder one tries it seems to be self defeating. I am seeking the will of my higher power to help make 2007 a better year.

I made a resolution at the start of 2006 to loose weight. I lost over 60 pounds and I feel great! 2007 will be to make my Slimming World class the biggest and best in my area. And I will do it!

Not doing a New Years resolution. most peole do not stick to them. when you set your mind to do something then you will do it. not because it's a new year but because that is something that you choose to do. Set realistic goals for youself not because it's a new year because its not a new you just a new year
